“The toughest thing about success is that you’ve got to keep on being a success.” – Irving Berlin. The absolute truth is, there are no secrets to success. There is simply hard work and sacrifice… No amount of talent or skill can substitute for the amount of work that needs to go in when it’s all said and done. That’s why the so-called “greats” can easily be defined as the average man, with “laser like focus.”
Whether you want an increased pay, better opportunities, or more responsibilities, you need to upgrade your performance! If you’re stuck, you’re going to get what you’ve always gotten. And if you sit there questioning your lack of success, take a step back and begin to critique your performance instead because therein lies your problem.
Unless you’re focused on improving your daily habits and routines, you’re never going to improve at the rate you should… Whenever my performance was not aligned with my goals, I knew I needed to take a step back in order to properly evaluate myself. I knew there was something I needed to change in order to keep progressing forward. Figure out what that change is, and make it!
“If you are not in the process of becoming the person you want to be, you are automatically engaged in becoming the person you don’t want to be.” – Dale Carnegie
If you want to be more, do more, and have more, it all starts at the beginning of your work ethics. Start counting the hours in a day because unsuccessful people will only count the days in a week. Make it your mission to make every hour count, because if you want to compete, you’re going to have to take your time more seriously.
