There is no such thing as “can’t.” Don’t destroy your own dream simply because there was an obstacle that you could not overcome. There are others roads and alternatives to take when your desired path is no longer available. These NBA players who didn’t go to college did not give up so easily on their dreams. They believed in their abilities as a basketball player and persevered through all of life’s difficulties.
This applies to anything in life. . . whether you didn’t get into college or university, or you weren’t accepted for the job position you so desired; there is always a way. It’s not the end of the road and surely not the end of your life. We live in a world where anything is possible, and the more we search for these possibilities, the more the opportunities open up to us.
Anyone can draw inspiration from these successful NBA players who didn’t go to college. When we see others who have done what we deemed “the impossible,” it frees us of the thinking that it can’t be done. If you have a dream against all odds, you must protect it. Don’t allow anyone or anything to trample your dream because the moment you let it be trampled is the instant you gave up on it.
“A lot of late nights in the gym, a lot of early mornings, especially when your friends are going out, you’re going to the gym, those are the sacrifices that you have to make if you want to be an NBA basketball player.” ~ Jason Kidd
